Santouka is a popular ramen franchise from Japan that has stores around the world. Aside from the one in Kelapa Gading, which is their second branch in Indonesia after their first at Plaza Indonesia, I have tried the franchise in Vancouver, BC Canada. I used to be a fan of their ramen in Vancouver however after trying multiple times the ones in Indonesia, at least two times in Kelapa Gading and more in Plaza Indonesia, I am left slightly disappointed. I find that the portions are smaller here and taste wise, it lacks the strong flavour punch that a pork based ramen typically delivers. Even when compared to the exact same brand but in Canada. The slice of pork served here is much tougher than it should be. I understand that franchises mean that they are owned and operated by different people and perhaps the lack of quality ingredients may play a factor into the difference in quality and flavour however it is disappointing to see what one of my favourite ramen store from overseas has turned to. The worst part of all is its price. To charge between Rp. 80,000 to above Rp. 100,000 per ramen bowl is borderline criminal. It is too expensive compared to other more flavourful ramen stores in Jakarta. I probably would only come back whenever there is a discount going on or I happen to have a voucher. Just a note for those interested in trying, my personal favorite is the Shoyu soup base here. Enjoy!

Have been watching this restaurant since it opened its door in mall near my house and somehow found the voucher in Daily Deals Website.We ordered Pork Ramen . Pork Curry Rice and Chicken Karaage.Well, I was quite disappointed since I have a super high level of expectation due to its high pricing.I didnt get the 'blast' I was looking for from nor the noodle . broth . or topping.Everything felt decent, actually, but then again, with such high pricing, people will be expecting for something more, let alone special.It will need to improve to survive the harshness of ramen bussinessMy undefeated ramen champion is still the notorious ik***sha.Thank YouGolden

Nice place, nice atmosphere, good service.The ramen also nice....love it...and will come here again ^^Was here for celebrating my friend's Birthday.. and they can provide extra table for us.. The server also nice..The decorations make us feel like in Japan already..Thanks santouka..

Second favorite after Ikkudo Ichi! The pork gyoza is also delicious. They provide one glass water for free. The price is quite expensive, more than any other restaurant

My mother got recommendation from her friend to try ramen in Hokaido Santouka. She said it was delicious. So, with high expectation, my family and I had dinner in this restaurant.We ordered Pork Shio Ramen, Char Siu Ramen, and Pork Kama-Miso Ramen.First, the portion was quite small. The color of soup was pale and unattractive. After tasted the dishes, my family agreed that all dishes were too salty, though my family usually loves salty food. Well at least, the pork was quite good.The price was expensive too, around Rp60.000,00 until Rp110.000,00 per portion.Honestly, I was disappointed.

I was there about a week after the great 2nd Kelapa Gading flooding. It was my second time in two years. When I came there for the first time, I did not remember much. Maybe it was not so memorable? ^_^ It happens you know.My second visit was with my parents as both of younger siblings had their own plans separately. I did not know whether it was after the flood or they just had too many customer that many of the favorite menu items are completely sold out while it was not packed when we walked in.I had a "small" bowl of Miso Ramen while my parents had Shio each. Apparently Soyu was sold out that day. Strange...We also ordered some potstickers on the side and hot ocha for drinks. The food came a bit late but not too bad. I gave the new waitress some slack because she was still learning. At least she works really hard making sure customers are happy.Food wise it was ok. Probably not as good as Hakata Ikkousha though some ramen lovers would probably tell me try others before offering my opinion :P I don't remember how much we paid but I was sure it was worth the price. Side note: This is my dad's favorite ramen place in Mall Kelapa Gading actually. He came here more often that I do. I'm sure we'll be back. Just make sure you keep more options in stock ya guys ^_-

Ramennya lumayan, tapi tidak istimewa. 50rb-an cm dapat porsi small. Yang medium 80an. WOW... untuk saya: KEMAHALAN untuk sesuatu yang kurang istimewa.Tetapi, mungkin lidah saya saja yang kurang cocok. Karena katanya tempat ini terkenal di luar sana...Yah, mungkin lidah saya dan dompet saya saja yang tidak cocok dengan tempat ini.

My first visit here was beginning of last year when I ordered pork cheek ramen. The pork cheek was superb, it was so tender and feel like melting in my mouth. At that time the price was still pricey that's why every time I pass by the restaurant, it's always very quiet. Then on my next visit at the end of last year and yesterday, they have lowered their price and amended some foods in their menu. So the price is not as pricey as before but the food quality is quite lower than before but overall is still worth to try.

Saya sama keluarga saya dan saudara saya waktu itu makan di restoran Hokkaido Ramen Santouka. Trs kita pesan ramen yg ada paket, nasi curry dan salad. Saya pesan shio ramen yg ramennya rasanya asin gurih. Pas saya makan rammenya saya tambahin spicy sesame oil dan rasanya jadi agak pedas. Ramennya rasanya lumayan enak tapi kalo terlalu banyak jadi bikin enek. Tapi overall, saya suka sama ramennya walaupun agak overprice.

Santouka is, in my opinion, the best tonkotsu-style (pork bone broth) ramen in Jakarta, while also being the most expensive.The broth is delicious and the pork slices is very tender and juicy! The ramen also comes with bamboo shoots and thin slices of jelly ear.Right now they only serve small and medium size, which is a shame considering when they first opened they also served a large size.
