Ordered some of their main courses and desserts. Taste-wise, the food was great, just slightly above okay, and inexpensive at all. What I did like was the services, the waiters and waitress were very attentive and took the customers with great care - love, love, love their hospitality.Put all aside, I felt that their ambience and location was not impressive, and very unsuitable to have a lunch meeting or dinner meeting.

Went here several times and have always been satisfying so far. Cozy ambience upstairs at Downtown Walk area with outdoor and indoor options available. The desserts are to die for.I recommend the:Tori dango soup, which consists of enoki, vegetables and tasty chicken meatball simmered in clear energizing brothChawan mushi, which has a kick of ginger aroma. It is soft, mushy and tasty even though it is not as delicate as other chawan mushi I've tasted (too bad the shrimp was not so fresh)Beef kimchi nabe: the kimchi soup is very tasty with fragrant and perfectly cooked sliced beef. I like the kimchi based soup here that isn't so overpoweringChicken katsu curry: the curry sauce is very tasty yet so light that it balances the crispy chicken katsu very well Unagi roll: although the roll is just so so, the unagi and unagi sauce simply bring the roll to the next levelThey have various fresh sashimi that you won't regret orderingNow, desserts:Macha paffe is my all time favorite. They serve the best red bean paste with it! It comes with 2 flavors of ice cram (green tea and ogura if I'm not mistaken)Matcha lovers should also order matcha ammitsu and matcha mousseThey also have a very good soybean dessert here. Very soft, lightly sweetened and comes with brown sugar syrup.Their egg pudding is just as good and worth trying as well

Ootoya outlet at summarecon mall serpong located at the outside of the mall, there'll be a direction to get there by the stairs.The place was surrounded by glasses, so you could watched the view around the restaurant beautifully.The Hakka set menu was a delicate ones, they grilled the fish perfectly and the soup was great. The ocha had a different color from ordinary ocha I usually drank but the taste was quite the same (ootoya's a little bit more strong taste). A perfect choice when you're longing for japanese restaurant.

Ordered 3 dishes from the menu while visiting. The place located at the outside of the mall building. It's actually kind of tricky to spot this place since the signage is quite small compared to the other vendors but aside from that, I like how they locate the restaurant. It's on the 2nd floor, surrounded by glass windows and they also have the outdoor section which I find very enjoyable.As for the food:Beef Croquette (Beef Korokke)It was a regular beef croquette served with side cabbage salad on the same bowl. Crunchy on the outside, moist and fragrant on the inside, and quite big of a piece. Also, not oily AT ALL. Yes! Major plus point. But aside from that, the croquette was just OK. I mean, it's just a beef croquette. A decent one, yes, but still a potato croquette. Oh, and I couldn't really taste the beef. Like it's barely there. Just the potato and the breadcrumbs.Tori Kurozu Set (around 80K++ if I'm not mistaken)This is THE BOMB. I know it looks kind of unappealing on the menu book but trust me, it was good! I ordered this with the set of rice, soup and side dish. It consist of chicken karaage which was fried beautifully (and super crunchy), baby potatoes, lotus root, carrot, onion and bell pepper drizzled with sweet sauce. Sounds too healthy for your liking? Haha... just try it first before you judge.Chicken Katsu... something (forgot the real name)Price was around 100K++... if I'm not mistaken.This is a kind of dish that I'm sure almost everyone will enjoy. I mean what could go wrong with perfectly fried chicken katsu, soft boiled egg, and savory gravy? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Oh, and it also served with the rice set that I mentioned before.If you are craving for decent authentic Japanese home-cooked style food with somewhat reasonable price, I say Ootoya is the place :)

Jadi baru minggu kemarin aku kesini, aku pesen lumayan banyak makanan dan semuanya ENAK! Aku pesen: chicken katsu don, beef bbq dan yang lainnya aku lupa namanya. Tapi semuanya enak banget kok! dan aku juga coba Green Tea dessertnya enakkkk!Over all aku kasih rate 4.0food: 4.5ambience: 4.0price: 3.5 (a bit expensive, but worth it)

Authentic Taste of Japanese Food... (y) Always come back here to find the best authentic Japanese Food, though the variety not much.. But all food is at best taste.. Try Tori Dango Soup.. Taste soo light and clear awesome

Uda bbrp kali makan sini, ga pernah kecewa. Makanan enak, porsi gede & bikin kenyang. Ambience oke dan suasana nyaman. Worth the price. Karyawannya juga ramah, sopan, dan sigap. Mantap deh. Recommended menu : ABURI SALMON + CHIRASHI 😍

Ootoya SMS really reminds me to those restaurant in japan. The place is pretty hidden and very understated. You need to go upstairs to reach the dining area. Impressive food and good price is a major plus for me. But there was a time, i ordered a set menu and it comes with empty pot (should be filled with broth). Leaving that aside, i guess you will satisfied with their food standards. My recommendation for rainy/cold day dish is kazan set. 👍
