Nice food and the place has a good ambiance. Their backyard is quite spacey which makes it a great place for you to meet up with friends, have some lunch or dinner.

From the outside, Alleyway looks like a typical café. Uniformly separated glass panes fill the entire length of the facade, and a large black wooden door stood on an indentation perpendicular to the windows. An air of gloom looms, even in broad daylight. AmbienceOpen the door, and you will be greeted by the friendly aroma of freshly brewed coffee and a wooden plank that says "The Alleyway Café". The floor is naked concrete, which rises to blend with the walls. A bricked pillar stands in the middle of the ground, its flaws unconcealed. A mahogany faux leather couch runs the length of the south wall, lined by seven square tables and their associated chairs. Across it, red predominates. Blood-coloured armchairs surround one side of two short tables, a outstretched tawny couch on the other. Antiquities line the wooden shelves that bedeck the walls, along with old-fashioned lamps that provide sufficient lighting to carry out the "alleyway" effect, although to me is way more "dungeon" than "alleyway". The remaining light comes from chandeliers and additional lamps that attach to the matte-black ceiling - attempting a starry-night sky gimmick. The bar is a block of concrete shaped in L. It boasts a double-head Etrica, accompanied by a rather rowdy grinder, and a display cabinet stocked with fruits - peculiar. On the other side of the L are small cookie jars and domed glass pastry stands, as well as the cash register. Bottles of syrup and glassware coter on the wooden shelves to the interior of the bar.Going further back is a door similar to the one you'll see in front, which leads to the outdoor area. Stepping foot on the concrete pavement outside, you will immediately notice the horticultural setting. Ferns and hanging plants line the walls, along with wild vines that roam the area. A terrace is available, potentially accommodating an extra 20-30 customers. The lush greenery protects consumers from the scorching sun, making it exceptionally comfortable to take up a spot there.Food & DrinksAs a coffee enthusiast and a scientist, I am aware of the fact that a fair and consistent comparison requires a scope and a constant variable. In this coffee adventure series, that constant variable would be a glass of piccolo. Why? Because I love piccolo (To all newcomers of the coffee world, I shall explain what a piccolo is. Basically, a piccolo is a half shot of espresso (about 15-20 ml), topped with warm milk served in a 100 ml glass).Naturally, I ordered a piccolo... and two pizzas cause I was hungry and I came with a buddy. The piccolo was beautifully made, with good height on the milk foam, a rich creamy texture on the first sip, and a soothing feel to the palette. The café uses an 80-20 house blend for their espressos, the majority of their Arabica from Toraja's beans - a Sulawesi harvest. I ordered one Margherita and one "BBQ Chicken Pizza". The medium, which I ordered, came with 6 generous slices. The crust was thin enough to be able to deliver a satisfying crunch by still being wholesome. Their Margherita was definitely not a classic, a bit stingy on the basil and topped with cheap-looking oregano flakes, but it was still enjoyable. The "BBQ Chicken Pizza" came with mushrooms, red onions, barbecue sauce, and what seemed to be pieces of grilled chicken, topped with freshly cut parsley. It had a slightly overpowering sweet taste, failing to balance it with supposed spiciness. Not the best, but definitely affordable.Service was mildly enjoyable, which was composed of a more than helpful team of waiters and waitresses, but a less than engaging team of baristas, who I noticed were on their phones most of the time.Piccolo (IDR 35k)*Margherita Pizza (IDR 30k)*BBQ Chicken Pizza (IDR 40k)**tax and service not includedVerdictThe Alleyway is a beautifully conceptualised café with a brilliant design scheme, providing customers with spacious seating areas, free wi-fi, and good coffee. The outdoors is perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon with friends, the indoors for working or reading sessions. Bottom line: Not-so-alleyway

Order fish and chips tapi yang keluar seperti salad dengan barramundi bakar dan potato wedges, dan sambal (berasa makan ikan bakar di jimbaran), diluar dugaan karena aneh aja. Kecewa dengan fish and chips nya, not recommended. Coffee latte nya juga agak kecewa rasanya tidak semenarik penampilannya. Italian meatballs nya lumayan enak dan porsinya banyak. Harganya terjangkau untuk lokasi di Denpasar.
